We are looking for our future growth champion and innovator to come on this journey with us. 


Your primary mission will be to manage and scale our teams and optimise their workflows as we rapidly grow!  


You will play a critical role at Totem - providing fresh thinking on how we take our service from good to great. You will be a core member of the executive team, reporting to the CEO, and working closely with department heads across the business (Finance, Accounts, Audience Growth, Production, Strategy, Content, Technology, Digital Rights Management, Sales).

Key Responsibilities

You will manage, build and refine systems that allow our business to scale up fast, fostering a culture of operational excellence that attracts and inspires exceptional staff and clients alike.  You will need to demonstrate proven experience in the following areas:

  1. P&L Management: ensuring billing, invoicing, tracking and forecasts are accurate and timely, identifying red flags and opportunities, and improving the overall processes by which we review, report and forecast

  2. OpEx Budgets: Develop and manage the opex budgets and cost structures. Including identifying infrastructure needed to support ongoing growth and operations of business (staff, software, hardware, etc).

  3. Reporting: Ensuring the teams are on track to hit targets, and our systems and workflows for generating reports on payouts and network performance are top notch

  4. Operational workflows: Proactively identify and address resourcing, processes and skills gaps to us to scale up speed and seamlessly.

  5. Resource management: Plan, coordinate and optimize teams’ schedules and external resources to ensure work is delivered on time and on budget, and can respond to Totem’s rapidly changing timelines. Working with external recruiters and consultants where necessary.

  6. Planning: Collaborate with leadership and teams to develop and monitor business plans and OKRs, identify areas of opportunity and goals, revenue and budgeting, and importantly, build systems that allow our plans to be turned into actions. 

  7. Project management: Get your hands dirty in the nuts and bolts of key projects as required. 

  8. People: empowering individuals to achieve excellence and establishing a safe and motivating work environment.

Our Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for an operational superstar, highly competent in getting sh*t done and scaling up a business.  You should thrive in making operations, processes and systems better.

Essential Experience

  • Exceptional workflow management skills: certification and proven experience implementing  and managing Lean / Agile methodologies 

  • University Degree, preferably Masters, in Business, Management, Project Management or similar

  • 5+ years in general and/or operational management in a media tech / video on demand or media entertainment business

  • Experience of scale-up: proven capacity to go from a team of 40 to 60+ employees at a rapid pace

  • Highly competent running P&L across multiple projects and business units

  • Have managed and implemented project management solutions across a business (e.g. Monday, Asana) 


Preferred experience

  • Strong knowledge of the major social media platforms, especially YouTube, Facebook, Snapchat, TikTok (understanding of social monetisation a plus);

  • Ability to manage a remote global team with diverse backgrounds;

  • Have managed and overseen implementation and/or build of workflow automation technology (video production, digital asset management, video distribution, content analytics, revenue reporting)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Channel Manager at Totem. If you are a driven and detail orientated social media superstar, familiar with managing big YouTube, Facebook, TikTok and Snapchat pages, then this is your calling!

The Position

As a Channel Manager, your mission will be to grow the social media audiences of some of Australia’s biggest creators and iconic TV shows. Our network receives 700M+ views every month and includes channels like Bondi Rescue, Sailing La Vagabonde, Sticky Lollies, Black As and more. You will collaborate and work closely with other channel managers, strategists and video editors. 


Tasks include:

  • Devising, analysing and implementing audience growth strategy - becoming a champion of the channel, creator and what they stand for

  • Managing communities on a daily basis to build fandoms and moderate pages

  • Creating thumbnails, titles, writing video descriptions and creating memes

  • Overseeing multiple projects, platforms and clients at once, maintaining trusting, growth oriented relationships with clients

  • Analysing performance and providing insights for internal and client presentations, making recommendations where appropriate

  • Briefing, overseeing and managing video deliverables, to maximise performance of video content




  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in social video and managing social media channels (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat) 

  • Experience working with social analytics and using insights to drive your decisions

  • Experienced with Adobe Creative Cloud edit suite (Photoshop) and Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs)

  • 1 year experience working with creators or TV shows on Facebook and/ or YouTube

  • 1 year experience managing channels with 250K plus followers



  • Experience managing channels with 1M plus followers

  • Has personally grown a channel more than 200,000 followers

  • Familiar with Social Monetisation (YouTube, Facebook, Snapchat)

Love social video? Addicted to YouTube, Facebook, Snapchat and TikTok?  We’re growing our editing and content team and looking for Full-Time Junior/ Senior Video Editors to join us! This is a position for skilled individuals who love social media. 


The Position

As a video editor, you will be responsible for the creation of content on some of our biggest social video pages. Your mission will be to create video content that will maximise audience engagement. You will create and test new formats, and use analytics and insights to impact creative decisions. 


The ideal candidate will be responsible for editing videos to maximise audience retention, engagement and advertising revenue. You will be efficient and productive, creating a high volume of entertaining and quality content. 


The video editor will be working across exciting social media channels of Australia’s biggest creators and iconic media properties. You will be working closely with channel managers. content strategists and report to our Network Manager. 


Main Responsibilities

  • Create and edit dynamic videos for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat or YouTube

  • Find the most effective ways to adapt content designed for one social platform to another

  • Edit high volume of social videos daily, managing your time effectively and to deadlines

  • Understand and apply social data and insights to maximize, improve video performance and develop and test new formats. 

  • Adapting the editing style for each creator or brand, including implementing and creating design templates

  • Use technical video editing skills to edit and produce captivating social video content

  • Ensure consistent and timely output of content on the pages you are working on

  • Collaborate with channel managers and strategists to come up with the best solutions and creative ideas


Mandatory Requirements

  • Have formal tertiary training or relevant experience in video editing 

  • Experience editing social video, with experience editing for at least one of YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat. 

  • Are passionate about video content on social media and keeping up to date with latest social content trends. 

  • Strong storytelling instincts

  • Proficient with Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop is a +

  • Ability to work positively with others and independently
